Knitted fabric quality checklist for bulk approval.
A knitted fabric quality checklist links the garment's requirements to agreed measurements, test methods and acceptance criteria. The quality checks for a T-shirt brief may differ from those for a polo, stretch underwear or a brushed sweatshirt. Identify the properties that affect your production and finished garment, then agree the relevant tests and acceptance criteria with the supplier.

Define physical measurements
Record finished GSM, usable width and how the measurements are taken. For dimensions after washing, state the care procedure and measurement conditions. Include spirality where it is relevant to the construction and application. A number without a measurement method can be difficult to compare.
Agree colour evaluation
Specify the colour reference, viewing conditions and the approach to assessing variation. Discuss the fastness tests relevant to the intended use and care. Keep the approved colour reference connected to the order and to subsequent repeat purchases.
Assess the surface and stretch
For raised or brushed surfaces, describe the required appearance and relevant pilling or surface checks. For stretch fabrics, specify stretch and recovery expectations with test conditions. Do not infer a performance guarantee solely from the fibre blend.
Record inspection and lot information
Agree the fabric inspection procedure, reporting format and acceptance criteria before shipment. Link roll identification to the relevant production lot and order. If third-party laboratory testing is required, clarify the test scope, sample selection and reporting responsibilities in the proposal.
Put the guide into practice.
Use the guide in your purchasing brief.
Keep your knitted fabric quality checklist specific to the article being ordered. Record the approved sample, construction, composition and finished measurements before listing the requested tests. Ask the technical team to distinguish required limits from preferences, and agree who reviews each result before the material is released to cutting.
For repeated purchases, the knitted fabric quality checklist should refer to the production lot and current specification version. A change in material, finish or intended care process may require a new review rather than reuse of an old report. Include visual inspection and roll identification requirements with the testing brief so the receiving team can connect the records to the actual fabric delivered.
For testing terminology, consult the AATCC testing and standards resources. Agree the actual methods and acceptance criteria for your fabric with the supplier.
Plan your next bulk fabric order.
Send your fabric specification, quantity by colour and destination. We will review sampling, production and delivery requirements.
