Fabric MOQ and separate colour minimums.
Fabric MOQ is easier to discuss when total order quantity, quantity per colour and the required unit are stated separately. A fabric order may have a minimum for the overall construction and a separate minimum for each colour or processing batch. An order spread across many small colour quantities is a different production brief from the same total quantity in one shade. Include both the overall volume and the breakdown when asking for a quote.

Keep the unit explicit
State whether your quantity is in kilograms, metric tonnes or metres. If buying by length, also state the finished GSM and usable width so the quotation can use a consistent specification. Tubular width needs a clear measurement convention. Ask for the quoted unit and quantity basis in writing.
Describe stock and made-to-order needs separately
If you need immediate availability, state that requirement at the start. A custom colour or construction can involve different material sourcing, approval and processing work from an existing specification. Availability, minimums and lead times should be confirmed for the actual offer rather than assumed from a general catalogue page.
Plan repeat purchasing
Tell the supplier whether the first order is a trial and whether you expect recurring demand. A forecast is useful for planning but is not the same as a released order. Agree how each order will be placed, approved and scheduled, including what happens when the colour mix changes.
What to send Fago Textile
Provide construction, composition, GSM, width, total quantity, quantity per colour and destination. Add the desired sample and delivery dates. We review the minimums and schedule with the proposed fabric and processing route.
Put the guide into practice.
Use the guide in your purchasing brief.
A fabric MOQ enquiry should show the construction, blend and finish behind the requested quantity. If you are buying matching rib or another component, identify it separately from the body fabric. State whether a small first order is intended as a trial and distinguish any future forecast from the quantity you are ready to commit.
When comparing fabric MOQ offers, check the unit and the scope of each minimum. An overall order threshold and a separate processing or colour minimum are different conditions. Record both in the quotation review, along with sample requirements and the delivery programme. A clearer brief helps you assess whether an offer fits your collection without assuming that one minimum applies to every fabric or shade.
For testing terminology, consult the AATCC testing and standards resources. Agree the actual methods and acceptance criteria for your fabric with the supplier.
Plan your next bulk fabric order.
Send your fabric specification, quantity by colour and destination. We will review sampling, production and delivery requirements.
